Courtney Waxman, MS, CVT, RVT, VTS(ECC)

I've spent almost 15 years working in the emergency and critical care veterinary field and currently work as an instructor for Purdue University's Veterinary Nursing Program.

I also serve as a Member-at Large for the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in American (NAVTA), the President of the Indiana Veterinary Technician Association (IVTA), on the Veterinary Nurse Initiative advisory team, and am a RECOVER Certified BLS and ALS Instructor. I share my passion for emergency and critical care by lecturing regionally, nationally and internationally, and has been published in veterinary technician/nursing journals in the US, UK, and Canada. In 2019, I was awarded New Educator of the Year by the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) and have been nominated for NAVTA Vet Tech of the Year in 2018 and 2020.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy world travel with my husband, spoiling my fur kids, reading, and fitness.
